Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience: 3–5 years QA/QC in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore or marine engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and marine industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) per ISO 9001 and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, class society requirements, and marine regulations.
• Support document control activities, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
• Support external audits by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
• Review inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, production, and QC inspectors to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Monitor fabrication, welding, piping, mechanical, and electrical works for compliance with standards and specifications.

Job Summary

The Assistant QA Manager will assist in managing the Quality Assurance system, ensuring that all marine engineering, ship repair, fabrication, and offshore activities meet established quality standards. The role involves supporting audits, inspections, process improvements, and quality control initiatives across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

• Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, classification society requirements, and applicable marine regulations.
• Support document control activities, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.

Audits & Compliance

• Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
• Support external audits by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

• Review inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, production, and QC inspectors to ensure quality requirements are met.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with marine and offshore industry standards.
• Experience with welding inspections, fabrication processes, and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of classification society requirements such as: Lloyd's Register; DNV Bureau Veritas; ABS.
• CSWIP 3.1 TWI Welding Inspector Certification preferred

Salary: SGD3,000.00 to 3,500.00
