Qualifications

• Experience in construction/demolition projects or related foundations works.
• Knowledge of wire saw cutting, wall saw cutting, core drilling, or controlled demolition is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schedules.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of project costing and cost control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing controlled demolition projects from planning to completion.
• Coordinate daily site operations including cutting and demolition activities.
• Coordinate manpower, machinery, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Liaise with main contractors, consultants, engineers and clients to ensure smooth execution.
• Review drawings, work sequences, method statements, and project schedules.
• Monitor site progress, productivity, quality and safety compliance.
• Assist with project budgeting, cost monitoring, progress claims and variations.
• Identify site issues and coordinate timely solutions to minimise delays.
• Prepare project reports, work schedules and documentation.
• Support the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.

About the Role

Zenova Steel is expanding its specialised controlled demolition business and is looking for a motivated and technically capable Assistant Project Manager to support project planning, site execution, and project management.

Our projects involve wire saw cutting, wall saw cutting, core drilling, and other specialised controlled demolition works.

This role is ideal for candidates with construction site experience who want to strengthen their project management capabilities and progress towards becoming a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing controlled demolition projects from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate daily site operations, including wire saw cutting, wall saw cutting, core drilling, and other demolition activities.
• Coordinate manpower, machinery, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Liaise with main contractors, consultants, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review construction drawings, work sequences, method statements, and project schedules.
• Monitor site progress, productivity, quality, and compliance with safety requirements.
• Assist with project budgeting, cost monitoring, progress claims, and variation orders.
• Identify site issues, coordinate solutions, and minimise project delays.
• Prepare project reports, work schedules, and other project documentation.
• Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in construction, demolition, structural cutting, or foundation works.
• Knowledge of wire saw cutting, wall saw cutting, core drilling, or controlled demolition is an advantage.
• Understanding of construction drawings, site operations, and work sequencing.
• Good coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic understanding of project costing, budgeting, and cost control.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently when required.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to develop technical and management skills.
