Job summary

VOLEX ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support ACMV/HVAC project delivery in Singapore. You will assist planning, coordinating design calculations, and managing on-site activities to meet schedule, budget, and safety standards.

The role requires 2–5 years of ACMV/HVAC experience, knowledge of local codes, and strong communication and coordination skills. Applicants should be prepared to liaise with clients and subcontractors on challenging projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related disciplines.
• 2–5 years of ACMV/HVAC project execution experience.
• Knowledge of ACMV design calculations and local codes (BCA, SCDF, WSH).
• Strong project management, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and delivering ACMV projects within schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards.
• Review ACMV design calculations (cooling load, duct/pipe sizing), technical specifications, shop drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Oversee site execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of ACMV systems, ensuring compliance with Singapore codes and authorities (BCA, LTA, SCDF).
• Coordinate ACMV works with architectural, structural, and other M&E services, and manage subcontractors and suppliers to resolve site clashes.
• Monitor project progress, daily schedules, resources, and material deliveries against the master delivery schedule.
• Assist with cost control, reviewing progress claims, variation orders, BOQ, and material take-offs.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical and site issues.
• Prepare project progress reports, maintain proper documentation, and understudy the Project Manager in risk management and project closeout.

Key Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related disciplines.




• Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in ACMV/HVAC project execution, coordination, or engineering (stepping up to an Assistant Project Manager capacity).




• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ACMV systems, engineering calculations, shop drawing coordination, and local statutory requirements (BCA, SCDF, WSH).




• Skills: Good project management, time management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
