Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee life cycle from attraction to retention and exit analysis.
  • Manage payroll and liaise with external payroll provider.
  • Partner with leadership to shape the People Strategy and local HR initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Support and drive APAC regional collaboration after onboarding.

Job description

We are seeking a strategically minded HR Business Partner to align the company’s people strategy in Singapore with the wider Group strategy. Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will oversee HR operations, act as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters and use HR data to lead change across the business. You will also be responsible for the company payroll, delivered through an external payroll provider. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The successful candidate will combine sound commercial judgement with deep HR expertise, the confidence to influence senior stakeholders, and the discretion to handle sensitive matters. The role requires professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational delivery. Following a successful onboarding with the Singapore organisation, the role will broaden to support and collaborate with other APAC subsidiaries. To perform this role successfully, the individual must meet the minimum job-related requirements outlined below. Some national and international travel may be required to attend training and support regional activities.

About the Role

Employee life cycle

  • Attraction and recruitment: define role requirements with managers, strengthen employer branding, and ensure diverse, inclusive hiring - working with HR platforms and head-hunters where appropriate
  • Onboarding: develop programmes that promote early engagement, smooth integration and clear expectations
  • Development and growth: partner with leadership on learning pathways, career progression and mentorship
  • Performance management: advise managers on objective-setting, coaching and continuous feedback
  • Engagement and wellbeing: lead initiatives that strengthen morale, inclusion and holistic wellbeing
  • Succession and mobility: identify high-potential talent and support succession planning and internal mobility
  • Exit and retention: analyse exit data to identify trends, inform retention strategies and maintain alumni relationships

Payroll and HR administration

  • Ensure the legal compliance, timing and accuracy of company payroll
  • Manage the external payroll provider relationship, including tax compliance
  • Oversee HR administration in line with employment law, data protection and best practice
  • Manage sick leave, holiday and overtime administration

HR strategy and policy

  • Work with business stakeholders to determine current and future HR needs
  • Shape HR policies and procedures to align with organisational goals
  • Partner with the HR Director to develop the People Strategy, and develop and implement the local HR and wellbeing strategies
  • Develop and implement a management toolkit

Stakeholder partnership and influence

  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with key stakeholders
  • Act as the HR expert on people matters and influence decision-making
  • Support and drive transformational organisational culture
  • Collaborate with global and regional colleagues as an active member of the APAC HR team
  • Use evidence, metrics and data to inform business decisions
  • Analyse HR trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Director’s department
  • Identify people priorities and address future workforce needs

Culture and development

  • Embed and support the company’s people-development tools to support employees’ ongoing growth
  • Coordinate local personal-development opportunities

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar HR role
  • Strong understanding of Singapore labour law, government requirements and HR best practice
  • Hands-on experience across recruitment, development, retention and termination
  • Experience at Junior or Senior Executive level in Human Resources or equivalent (preferred)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • High integrity, discretion, and the ability to work independently
