Job description

The Assistant Manager of Community-Based Support Services (CSS) leads the planning and operational delivery of MINDS’ Befriending and Respite initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, he/she will oversee a portfolio of dynamic programmes—including Empowering Bubbles and Support Transition and Engagement Programme—designed to integrate Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PWIDs) into the community. He/she will bridge service gaps for the unserved while mentoring a team of Programme Executives to achieve excellence in client-centric delivery. CSS is the dynamic and nimble service delivery arm in MINDS that response to emerging needs of PWIDs and Caregivers in the community. Examples of Befriending and Respite programmes include Me Too! Club, MYG, Support Transition and Engagement Programme, Empowering Bubbles, Befriending Services, and Customised Respite Care. These services aim to enhance integration and community living of caregivers and PWIDs in the community.The Assistant Manager manages the risk and quality of the programmes, monitors programme expenses to ensure they are within the budget and reviews information materials that are for distribution to clients and volunteers. He/she determines the volunteer needs for programmes and guides junior staff and volunteers in executing programme activities. He/she also collaborates with other organisations to develop programmes and develops community outreach plans to target client groups, external agencies, organisations and the community. A client-centric, resourceful, proactive professional, the Assistant Manager is strategic in his/her approach and works in various voluntary welfare organisations, communities and institutional settings.

Programmes and Event Coordination

  • Manage programme risk, quality and compliance.

Resource Management

  • Review client, caregiver, and volunteer records and progress for proper documentation.

  • Review information materials for distribution to clients and volunteers.

  • Determine volunteer needs and profile for programmes.

  • Organize volunteer events, activities and trainings.

Stakeholder Relation

  • Recruit and manage volunteers in executing programme activities.

  • Collaborate with other organisations for the development of programmes.

  • Manage communications and feedback from stakeholders and junior staff.

  • Develop community outreach plans to target client group, other organisations and the community.

Qualification
  • Degree Holder in relevant field of Disability/Allied Health Professional/ Mass Communications.
