Job summary

ONYX SG PTE. LTD. is seeking an Assistant Legal Manager to lead legal support for regional business development and investments in Southeast Asia.

You will draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and project documentation, identify risks, and provide practical legal solutions while advising on Singapore Companies Act compliance. You will liaise with external counsel and coordinate cross-border matters across offices to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a law degree; practicing certificate not required.
• 4–6 years of in-house legal experience, preferably in energy/infrastructure/commodities.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial agreements and tender documents.

Job description

A leading multinational energy company is currently seeking an Assistant Legal Manager to drive and oversee legal support for its regional business development and investment activities.

The Assistant Legal Manager will take strong ownership in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements and project-related investment documentation. Acting as a key advisor to the business, you will identify legal risks, provide practical, business-oriented solutions, and offer guidance on matters related to the Singapore Companies Act.

Furthermore, you will take the lead in liaising with external legal counsel and actively coordinate cross-border legal matters across the company's various representative offices and subsidiaries in Southeast Asia to ensure full regulatory compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in law or an equivalent legal qualification (A legal practicing certificate is not required)
• 4 to 6 years of relevant in-house legal experience, preferably with exposure to the energy, infrastructure, or commodities trading sectors
• Proven track record in independently drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and tender documents
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills, with the ability to provide practical legal solutions to stakeholders
• Excellent written and spoken English, paired with strong stakeholder management abilities
