Assistant Manager, Finance (1 Year Contract)

Responsibilities

• Partner with academic and administrative stakeholders to provide financial advice and support data-driven decision-making.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, ensuring alignment with School and University priorities.
• Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and identify risks and opportunities to enhance financial outcomes.
• Oversee revenue management and receivables processes to ensure timely revenue recognition, effective collections, and strong cash flow management.
• Review funding and budget requests, evaluate business cases, and provide recommendations to support management decisions.
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses, translating complex financial information into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Maintain effective financial operations and governance by supporting procurement, payments, asset management, financial closing, audit activities, and compliance with University policies and controls.
• Support Finance Business Partner in any other matters

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy / Finance or equivalent professional qualifications
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification would be beneficial
• Comfortable operating in a matrix structure andin a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively within the team
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills both written and verbal
• Solution-oriented
• Able to handle high volume and multiplestakeholders across all levels in the organisation
• Able to balance attention to detail whilemaintaining strong understanding of broader strategic objectives

Relevant Experience

• Experience in a combination of Financial Planning & Analysis and Controllership
• More than 5 years of experience

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word,PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
• Good knowledge of SAP system
• Good knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Aribasystem would be advantageous.
