Job description

As a Hydrogeological/Hydrological Technical Specialist at WSP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects that have a significant impact on the environment and the community. You will work closely with project managers and technical leads to provide support in various hydrogeological and geological tasks, including groundwater components of Environmental Impact Assessments, operational water management, and closure/reclamation for the oil sands/mining industry.Your responsibilities will include assisting in the execution of hydrogeological technical services, such as data analysis, visualization, and development of conceptual site models. You will apply hydrogeological principles to groundwater projects using both conceptual and numerical modelling software. Additionally, you will be involved in developing solutions for groundwater problems, performing numerical modelling and simulations, and preparing technical documentation to support analytical and numerical studies.To excel in this role, you should have a background in Environmental/Mining Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 2 to 7 years of experience. Proficiency in numerical analyses for engineering applications, as well as experience with commercial numerical groundwater modelling codes and visualization software, will be beneficial. A good understanding of numerical methods, scripting/programming, global optimization, and data science in the field of hydrogeology is highly desirable.
