Job summary

BYD (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is looking for an Electric Vehicle Engineer to support maintenance for e-buses and trucks. You will work on-site with technicians, diagnose EV system issues, and provide engineering and tech support to fleet customers.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Automotive/Power Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in the automotive industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience as an EV engineer or similar role in automotive engineering.
• Knowledge of EV systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Attend on-site depot field services with a technician.
• Coordinate with customers to attend vehicle breakdown.
• Provide engineering and technology support to customers.
• Identify and solve electrical and mechanical EV system problems.
• Update customers on vehicle repair status.
• Cost analysis and component replacement trends.
• Recommend critical spare parts for stock by warehouse staff.
• Update vehicle maintenance and repair history records.
• Document and present design, simulation, and test results to stakeholders.
• Maintain good working relationships with fleet customers.
• Attend monthly meetings with customers and authorities to address issues.
• Comply with safety regulations; 5S housekeeping in workshop.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

Maintenance Support to Fleet Owners/PTOs for the eBuses/Truck:

• To attend on-site depot field services together with technician
• Coordinate with customers to attend vehicle breakdown
• Provide engineering and technology support to customers
• Identifying and solving electrical and mechanical problems that may arise in electric vehicle systems.
• Update customers on vehicle repair status
• Cost analysis and component replacement trends
• Recommend critical spare parts for stock up to Warehouse Executive
• Update vehicle maintenance & repair history records
• Documenting and presenting design, simulation, and test results to stakeholders and team members.

2. Customer Relation Management:

• Maintain good working relationship with all fleet customers
• Attend monthly meetings with customers and authority to address outstanding issues

3. Workplace Safety & Health:

• Complying with safety regulations and standards when working in workshop and on-site
• Trained in Work-At-Height/Lifting Supervisor will be advantage
• Ensure proper 5S Housekeeping for workshop

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Power Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Automotive Industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven experience as an Electric Vehicle Engineer or a similar role in automotive engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electric vehicle systems and technologies.
