Job Purpose
Manage a team to perform proper daily maintenance or project work on NSEW Supervisory Control System, NSEW/BP Power SCADA and Emergency Traction Tripping System in stations, substations, depots, and OCC (Operations Control Centre), achieving reliability, availability and safety.
Goal: Meet System maintenance KPI.
Responsibilities
- Main Duties are contained below (admin and operational duties applied to AE/Senior Technical Officer roles):
- Admin Matter: Plan and consolidate monthly works schedule and man-hour; update members on circulars, department notices, safety topics and related matters; discuss, report and update in monthly meetings; assist EMM in coordination for corrective maintenance (CM), safety, inspection, and project support; maintain documentation (e.g., RTU datalist, drawings); monitor inventory/spares as directed by the supervisor; ensure work procedures are updated for safety and regulatory compliance; attend e-quizzes, refresher, and development training; conduct supervised field training and training (lessons learnt) to junior staff; manage staff welfare (leave, clock in/out).
- SCS Maintenance (applicable only for OCC & Field AE): perform system backup, preventive and corrective maintenance timely; attend to all calls and SAP work notifications for PM and CM; compose and submit work reports related to first line maintenance; ensure all reported CM and PM work orders are closed accurately and promptly; maintain safe and hazard-free custody of equipment rooms at stations and base offices; perform periodic review of work specs, instructions or project procedures, risk assessments, etc.; perform QA checks on repaired items; perform in-house repairs when appropriate; optimize spare parts and consumable item usage; assist in the disposal of condemned or obsolete equipment/parts; assist EMM in the generation of fault analysis reports and case studies.
- Other Roles and Responsibilities: PIC duties – responsible for system A&A and contractor work; ensure compliance with safety requirements and follow safety instructions from manuals and circulars; provide support in fault-finding and investigation;
- Safety Inspection and Audit: attend safety inspections/audits of SCS systems/equipment and processes; monitor compliance with safety protocols.
- External Parties and Technical Data: coordinate works by external parties (including LTA and contractors); consolidate and organize technical data related to equipment as required by the supervisor; review manuals and drawings submitted by contractors for as-built accuracy.
- Proactive Improvements (Kaizen): propose areas for improvements proactively.
- Emergency Response: respond to emergency recalls as required by the supervisor.
- Night/Shift Work: perform night/shift work-related duties or cover as assigned and directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma in Control and Engineering
- Higher Nitec in Engineering with at least 1 year of railway-related experience
