Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead media sensing by monitoring and analysing media coverage across print, broadcast, online and social media; produce reports to support government communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee Duty Desk operations; handle queries from government agencies and media; support planning and execution of media operations for national events.
• Lead planning and organisation of media engagement events and cultivate relationships with media stakeholders.
• Support development and implementation of team workplans, operational strategies and capability-building initiatives; identify opportunities to leverage technology and data analytics.
• Supervise and provide leadership to a team of officers to ensure timely delivery of work and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Job description

Participate in media monitoring, analysis, engagement, and management, to provide a better understanding of Singapore and its policies, and to connect people to community, government and opportunity, in support of MDDI's mission to engage hearts and minds.

As part of the MAOD team, you will be in charge of:

Media Sensing

• Lead the monitoring and analysis of media coverage across various media platforms including print, broadcast, online, and social media. Collate and produce media analysis products and reports to provide timely insights and support government communications, policy implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Media Operations and Facilitation

• Oversee Duty Desk operations, including handling queries from government agencies and media.
• Support the planning and executions of media operations for major national events such as the National Day Rally and Elections.

Media Engagement and Cultivation

• Lead the planning and organisation of media engagement events such as journalist visit programmes.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with media stakeholders.

Strategic Planning and Projects

• Support the development and implementation of team workplans, operational strategies and capability-building initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology, data analytics and innovation to strengthen media sensing and operations capabilities.
• Undertake any other duties and projects assigned by management.

Team Leadership and People Development

• Supervise and provide leadership to a team of officers to ensure timely delivery of work and achievement of team objectives.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing and learning-oriented team culture.
