Job summary

PERSOL in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Contracts Manager to oversee contract administration and compliance across projects, ensuring timely execution.

You will review documents, manage variations, assess risks, and provide guidance to project managers and site teams, while maintaining regulatory standards.

This role requires a degree or diploma in QS/PM/Construction Management and at least 5 years with main contractors; A1 project experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Contract/Commercial Department within Main Contractor companies.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation, administration, and management of variation orders.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and standard forms, alongside knowledge of contract-related regulations.
• Experience with A1 Main Contractor projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and administer contract documents, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Analyze contract provisions to identify risks and safeguard the organization’s interests.
• Monitor adherence to contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the development, preparation, and negotiation of variation claims, progress claims, extension of time claims, and counterclaims.
• Establish an effective variation control system and work closely with project teams on accurate submission preparations.
• Troubleshoot contract-related issues, including breaches, payment claims, and disputes.
• Provide contractual guidance to project managers and site teams while supporting dispute resolution strategies.
• Identify potential contractual risks and recommend strategies for mitigation.
• Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of contractual obligations.
• Facilitate collaboration with project managers, construction managers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Train and guide junior contract staff, ensuring clarity around contract administration and negotiation processes.
