Job summary

Eurofins Mechem in Singapore invites a laboratory technician to join its diverse team performing essential analytical testing and quality assurance tasks. You will assist the Lab Manager and Senior Chemist, conduct calibrations, prepare reagents, and help maintain equipment and records in a busy lab environment.

The ideal candidate has a chemistry or science qualification, is comfortable with PPE, may handle hazardous materials, and is willing to work overtime when required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Chemistry, Science or equivalent
• Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management
• May work with potentially hazardous materials
• Overtime and weekend work as required
• Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods in a laboratory hood
• Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Entry level are welcome

Responsibilities

• Determining the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspect of the company
• Assist the Lab Manager / Senior Chemist in all aspects of work in the respective section
• Carry out testing on all aspects of work and calibration of equipment in the respective section when necessary
• Assist in or perform reagent preparation and standardization of standard solutions
• Perform result entry, QC checks, inventory maintenance, basic equipment calibration & maintenance
• Maintain all equipment and testing records in the respective section
• General laboratory work like housekeeping, sample receipt and registration, preparation of sample bottles and helping to maintain cleanliness
• Highlight abnormalities and discrepancies in the testing, calibration and results
• Perform the duties of a Quality Officer for the section
• Updating of test methods and working instructions under supervision

Education
