Job summary

O3 ESTATE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to support the Chef in preparing and cooking Korean dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.

You will handle mise en place, prepare ingredients, and assist with a variety of menu items from soups to grilled dishes. The role requires knowledge of Korean ingredients and sauces, ability to work quickly, follow recipes, and maintain hygiene.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in Korean cuisine or a Korean restaurant environment preferred.
• Familiar with basic Korean food preparation and cooking techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef in the preparation and cooking of Korean dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
• Prepare ingredients and carry out daily mise en place for Korean cuisine, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces and side dishes.
• Assist in preparing Korean dishes such as soups, stews, grilled dishes, stir-fried dishes and other menu items.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Guide Kitchen Assistants in basic food preparation duties when required.

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef in the preparation and cooking of Korean dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
• Prepare ingredients and carry out daily mise en place for Korean cuisine, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces and side dishes.
• Assist in preparing Korean dishes such as soups, stews, grilled dishes, stir-fried dishes and other menu items.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain assigned kitchen workstations.
• Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with proper storage, labelling and stock rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Assist with receiving and checking food supplies when required.
• Support the Chef during daily food preparation and service operations.
• Guide Kitchen Assistants in basic food preparation duties when required.
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in Korean cuisine or a Korean restaurant environment preferred.
• Familiar with basic Korean food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of Korean ingredients, sauces and seasonings would be an advantage.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Good teamwork and positive working attitude.
