MISUMI South East Asia is looking for an Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable to take ownership of credit risk, collections performance and AR process improvement, working closely with the Finance Manager, Sales and customers. This is a hands‑on role in a lean finance team — you’ll stay close to the numbers while also driving the analysis, recommendations and process changes that protect our cash flow.
Healthy cash flow depends on getting credit decisions and collections right. This role gives you direct influence over how MISUMI manages customer credit risk and collects on time — and a chance to shape how the AR function runs, not just execute it.
Assess customer payment behaviour, financial standing and credit exposure to recommend new credit facilities and credit limit revisions
Monitor overdue accounts and lead appropriate collection and recovery strategies, including complex or disputed cases
Partner with Sales to balance commercial opportunities with prudent credit risk management
Analyse AR ageing, collection performance and payment trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities
Prepare management reports with clear, actionable recommendations
Identify process and control gaps, and lead initiatives — including digitalisation and automation — to improve efficiency
Build strong working relationships with Sales, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve credit and collection matters
Present collection performance, risks and recommendations clearly to Management
Support the Finance Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day AR operations — invoice processing, receipts and reconciliations — stepping in directly where needed
Review month‑end closing activities and monitor AR performance to ensure accuracy, and to identify operational risks and compliance gaps
Coach and guide junior AR team members, and support workload planning to keep service levels on track
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounts Receivable and Credit Control, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity
Hands‑on experience in AR ageing analysis, payment trend analysis, reconciliation and credit control, including assessing customer credit risk
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; able to coach team members and work independently.
Proficient in Excel. SAP experience are a plus but not required.
Comfortable digging into the “why” behind a number, not just reporting it
Takes ownership of problems to resolution, and is confident raising a recommendation even when it's not the popular one
Willing to stay hands‑on with day‑to‑day processing in a lean team, while also thinking beyond it
