The ASRS Technician is responsible for the efficient operation and oversight of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) equipment to facilitate the storage, retrieval, and movement of materials or products within a warehouse or distribution center. This role involves executing tasks according to established procedures, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Operate ASRS equipment, including automated cranes, conveyors, and control systems, for loading, unloading, storage, and retrieval of goods
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and follow maintenance schedules for ASRS equipment
Adhere to SOPs, including equipment operation, inspections, startup/shutdown procedures, and safety requirements
Monitor ASRS operations through WCS, HMI, and control systems, responding promptly to alarms or system issues
Conduct routine equipment checks and report any mechanical, electrical, or operational abnormalities
Work with warehouse and inventory teams to prioritize tasks, optimize storage utilization, and support timely order fulfillment
Comply with safety regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times
Assist engineers with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, including coordinating equipment downtime
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth ASRS operations and issue resolution
Participate in training and refresher programs to enhance ASRS operational knowledge and safety awareness
Engineering Diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications in warehouse operations, material handling, or ASRS are an advantage
Experience operating automated material handling equipment such as ASRS, Multi-Shuttle systems, ACR/AMR, conveyors, or forklifts preferred
Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain logistics
Proficient in using computer systems for data entry, inventory tracking, and system monitoring
Strong attention to detail with accurate and reliable work practices
Basic verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
Physically fit to perform manual handling (up to 23kg), work at height, bending, and prolonged standing
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and support flexible working hours, including weekends and shifts when required
