Job summary

ETONHOUSE PRE-SCHOOL PTE LTD is seeking an Atelier Coordinator to operate the Atelier in the assigned pre-schools. You will work directly with children alongside teachers to provide experiences and provocations, observe and document the learning process in detail, and support creativity in a stimulating environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in ECE with Arts diploma or BA in Arts with ECE certificate.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience in a pre-school environment.
• Experience teaching visual and/or performing arts.
• Knowledge of inquiry-based learning.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operation of the Atelier in the assigned pre-schools


• Support children’s creativity and learning through working directly with children alongside teachers in rooms and specifically in the Atelier, to provide experiences and provocations for the children and to observe and document the learning process in detail.


• Provide a stimulating environment for children and staff to work on long-term projects and provide a wide range of “intelligent” materials giving children the opportunity to express themselves through as many “languages” as possible.


• Ensure that there is a broad range of creative experiences available for the children at all times to encourage ideas, exploration and questions and develop their ability to express themselves in as many ways as possible.


• Produce display documentation, booklets and films on projects and learning experiences that happen in the pre-schools.


• Develop teaching staff’ awareness of working with children to encourage their learning through creative expression, individually, and as part of a group.


• Provide in-house training on the Reggio Emilia approach, in collaboration with consultants.


• Create an aesthetic environment in the ateliers and influence the aesthetic environment in the pre-schools.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Diploma in Arts; or A Bachelor Degree in Arts with an Early Childhood Teaching certificate


• Have between 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience, preferably in a pre-school environment.


• Have relevant experience in teaching art related subjects such as visual arts and/or performing arts.


• Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning is required.


• Must be very proficient and fluent in English Language (both spoken and written)
