Job summary

Swan & Maclaren Architects Pte Ltd in Singapore invites a skilled Architectural Designer to join the team. You will assist senior architects in designing and developing projects, creating proposals, and managing development and submissions for local and overseas markets.

The role requires strong coordination with clients, consultants and authorities, delivering high-quality architectural solutions using BIM and common design tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least 2 years of local work experience.
• Professional accreditation eligibility is an advantage.
• Strong project management, communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient in Revit, ArchiCAD, BIM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective written, oral and graphic communication.
• Familiar with local authorities regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior architects in design and development of projects.
• Prepare design proposals and oversee design development and PM.
• Submit to local authorities; prepare construction documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors on design issues.
• Monitor progress to ensure adherence to contract and schedule.
• Attend project/technical/consultant meetings as required.
• Check plans against statutory requirements.
• Coordinate follow-up with authorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Architectural Designer will assist senior architects in the design and development of projects, prepare design proposals, and oversee design development and project management, including submissions to local authorities, construction documentation, and contract administration.

• Involvement in project works from inception to completion.
• Responsible for planning, designing and implementing projects in the local and overseas market.
• Create innovative high-quality architectural designs and design solutions including conceptualization, preparation of plans/ graphics/ documentation/write-ups, specifications and all other project related materials.
• Work with internal & external stakeholders e.g. clients, consultants, contractors and workers on various design issues, submissions and the execution of the site works.
• Monitor project progress to ensure projects are carried out within contract agreement and schedule.
• Attend project / technical / consultant meetings where required.
• Checks plans and submissions against statutory requirements.
• Co-ordinates and monitors follow up to authority.
• Any other duties as and when assigned

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least 2 years of local work experience.
• Eligibility for Professional Architectural accreditation is an advantage.
• Good project management, excellent communication, and coordination skills.
• Well versed in Revit/ArchiCad/BIM, Autocad, Sketchup, PhotoShop and Office software. Knowledge of Revit is an advantage.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to communicate effectively in the written, oral and graphic form.
• Able to multi-task and with good time management.
• Conversant with Local Authorities’ regulations and compliances.
