Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineer to design, integrate, and support semiconductor test systems for customers across diverse industries. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements, develop test solutions, and deploy systems at client sites.

You will install, validate, and provide ongoing support, ensuring measurement accuracy and reliable performance. Strong programming skills and familiarity with leading ATE platforms are required, along with travel flexibility.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Computer/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience with semiconductor test systems or automated test equipment.
• Knowledge of RFIC/mixed-signal testing and validation.
• Experience with test software and platform development (e.g., SmarTest, IG-XL).
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Visual Basic, Python.
• Understanding of measurement accuracy, test architecture, and hardware-software integration.

Job description

• Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external partners to define, develop, and deploy semiconductor test solutions
• Gather and document customer requirements and contribute to project scopes and statements of work
• Plan, coordinate, and lead project activities
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, performance, and customer expectations
• Install, configure, validate, and support test systems at customer locations
• Perform final acceptance testing
• Evaluate, integrate, and validate hardware solutions, including analog and digital circuits, signal interconnects, and data communication protocols
• Support the design and integration of modular test hardware into turnkey test systems
• Assess system performance, reliability, measurement accuracy, and cost effectiveness
• Use laboratory measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and other instruments
• Partner with customers and manufacturing stakeholders to improve system stability, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training on system operation and best practices
• Respond to technical challenges during implementation and support activities
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed for customer engagements, deployments, and business objectives

Requirements

• Degree, diploma, technical qualification, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• Experience developing, integrating, supporting, or designing semiconductor test systems, automated test equipment, or related engineering solutions
• Knowledge of semiconductor testing and validation, including RFIC or mixed-signal IC testing and validation, RF FEM, on-wafer testing, ADC/DAC, LED, MEMS sensors, and PMIC
• Experience with software or system development, including test case development and test platform software such as SmarTest and IG-XL
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Visual Basic, and Python
• Knowledge of electronic test instruments such as source measurement units, digital pattern instruments, and digitizers
• Understanding of measurement accuracy and sources of error
• Understanding of instrumentation selection and test architecture design
• Understanding of hardware and software integration
• Understanding of grounding and shielding concepts
• Understanding of PCB design tools and schematic development
• Understanding of statistical analysis techniques, including process capability and measurement system analysis
• Ability to diagnose technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
• Preferred: experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing, production test, validation engineering, or automated test environments
• Preferred: familiarity with V93000, UltraFLEX, J750, Pax, or similar semiconductor ATE platforms
• Preferred: knowledge of NI PXI, NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or related test software environments
• Preferred: knowledge of handlers, probers, and wafer-level test systems
• Preferred: experience leading technical projects from concept through deployment
• Preferred: understanding of system-level architecture, hardware integration, and reliability optimization
• Preferred: demonstrated success in customer-facing technical roles within a global environment
