Job summary

Busch Vacuum Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Sales Support Team. You will be responsible for the engineering, fabrication and performance of small and medium vacuum systems, ensuring on-time delivery to customers and acting as the technical lead for quotations and clarifications.

You will coordinate with factories and subcontractors, prepare GA drawings and P&ID in AutoCAD, perform FAT and T&C at customer sites, and train system technicians.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years of working experience in system design, application or sales support in vacuum service industries preferred.
• Basic drafting skills and AutoCAD experience are a definite advantage.
• Excellent aptitude toward mechanical equipment and a hard-working attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate and ensure performance of small to medium vacuum systems and on-time delivery to customers.
• Provide technical support to customers, evaluate applications and design suitable vacuum solutions.
• Coordinate with factories, vendors and sub-contractors; create GA drawings and P&ID using AutoCAD or 3D (SolidWorks).
• Act as single point of contact for clarifications for customers, contractors and resellers; handle quotations and follow up.
• Lead FAT and T&C at customer sites and oversee system assembly with technicians.

Job description

This incumbent will be an active member of the Sales SupportTeam in Busch Vacuum Singapore Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary under BuschHolding GmbH. As Senior Systems Engineer, it is important for this individualto be a TEAM player while delivering the following results:

Factor I : Accountability

• Responsible for the engineering, fabrication andperformance of small and medium vacuum systems. This includes theaccountability for the cost of fabrication, supervising the fabrication work,the performance output and the on-time delivery to the customer.
• On systems sales support side, you are responsible toprovide technical support to the customer. Engage customers to evaluateapplication possibilities, calculate and design vacuum systems and proposesuitable technical solutions. This also includes selecting the suitableinstruments and components to meet the customer’s requirement andspecification.
• Responsible for the coordination and performance of largesystems where the system is built by other Busch Companies (e.g. BuschNetherlands)
• Provide inside sales support on handling sales inquiriesand generate proposals relating to the sale of vacuum pumps & systems.
• Supervise and provide necessary guidance to systemtechnician (direct report) to execute system assembly involving pipe fittings,valves, instruments, skid frames, control panel and up to testing and painting.
• Be responsible for Final Acceptance testing (FAT) insystem production facility and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) atcustomer site.
• Engage the customers on a day-to-day basis to follow up onquotations and technical clarification.
• Coordinate with factory, outsource vendors andsub-contractor and create G.A. Drawing, P&ID etc using Autocad or 3-DSolidworks.
• Act as the single point of contact for technicalclarifications for customers, contractors, resellers and agents.
• Track and report quote activities; participate in MonthlyReporting process.
• Execute contract review prior to order entry to ensureclean-order process – Evaluate and interpret customers’ specification againstour offer. Clarify with customer where necessary to resolve unclearrequirements. Coordinate with Order Admin team on shipment update andinformation going back to the customer up to the point of delivery.
• Conduct product and application training.

The scope of territorial support includes Singapore,Indonesia and the Philippines.

Knowledge and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering orother relevant Engineering discipline.
• 3 to 4 years of working experience in system design,application, sales support preferably from within the vacuum service industriesbut not mandatory.
• Basic drafting or Autocad skills is a definite advantage.
• An excellent aptitude towards mechanical equipment isneeded for this role.
