Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD in Singapore seeks an Application DBA / Stored Procedure Developer with at least 3 years of experience to design and optimize stored procedures while ensuring data integrity and performance.

You will analyse Sybase procedures, convert to T-SQL or equivalent, validate results, and collaborate with developers to resolve dependencies between the database layer and application code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in application-level database development or stored procedure engineering.
• Strong expertise in Sybase stored procedures and database architecture.
• Proficiency in T-SQL or equivalent SQL dialect.
• Experience with database migration projects and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and document existing Sybase stored procedures to understand embedded business and application logic.
• Re-engineer or convert stored procedures to T-SQL or the target platform's equivalent and validate functionally equivalent outputs.
• Collaborate with application developers to resolve logic dependencies between the database layer and application code.
• Support schema migration and data integrity validation and participate in migration wave testing and cutover activities.

We are looking for a skilled professional with at least 3 years of experience who can design, develop, and optimize stored procedures while ensuring data integrity and performance.

Key responsibilities include analysing and documenting existing Sybase stored procedures to understand embedded business and application logic, re-engineering or converting stored procedures to T-SQL or the target platform's equivalent, validating that converted logic produces functionally equivalent outputs, collaborating with application developers to resolve logic dependencies between the database layer and application code, supporting schema migration and data integrity validation, and participating in migration wave testing and cutover activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application-level database development or stored procedure engineering
• Strong expertise in Sybase stored procedures and database architecture
• Proficiency in T-SQL or equivalent target platform SQL dialect
• Ability to read, interpret, and re-engineer complex business logic embedded in database procedures
• Experience with database migration projects, including schema conversion and functional validation
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data migration methodologies is an advantage
