Job summary

Amazon AWS Finance seeks a Financial Analyst to support the Startup Sales organization in APJ. This role provides analytical and operational support including financial analysis, metrics reporting, and planning and forecasting.

The successful candidate will be analytically strong, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how finance drives business outcomes. They will have a demonstrated ability to deliver clear, accurate analysis and communicate findings effectively to support decision-making.

Qualifications

5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making.
5+ years of applying KPIs to analyses.
5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.

Responsibilities

Support business reviews by preparing financial analyses, variance commentary, and supporting materials that promote accountability and high standards.
Develop and improve recurring metrics, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc analyses for the Startup Sales finance team.
Partner with stakeholders across Startup Sales, BD, and Marketing at working levels to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and deliver timely financial insights.
Contribute to planning and forecasting processes — support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles including data gathering, model updates, and scenario analysis.
Leverage AI and automation tools — use generative AI, agentic assistants, and automation solutions to streamline recurring finance tasks such as data extraction, variance analysis, and narrative generation, continuously improving team productivity.
Identify and elevate issues proactively — flag data discrepancies, risks, or emerging trends to senior team members with recommended actions.
Drive process improvements — look for opportunities to automate, simplify, or improve the accuracy of recurring financial processes.
A day in the life — You'll start mornings reviewing dashboards you own — checking revenue trends, forecast variances, and data anomalies across the APJ Startup portfolio.
You'll also make time to improve how the team works — automating manual processes with AI tools, building QuickSight dashboards, or writing queries that save hours each month.
Your stakeholders are APJ Startup Sales leaders, BD managers, and Marketing teams.
