seeks a Senior Manager for Reinsurance and Underwriting in APAC with deep life and health product knowledge and extensive individual and group underwriting experience. The role involves negotiating with regional reinsurers, liaising with underwriters, product actuaries, and legal teams on treaty matters, and coordinating with marketing, partnerships, claims, operations, and finance for strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field; advanced degrees and professional certifications preferred.
• Postgraduate studies in Business Management and Insurance is an advantage.
• Proven 10–15 years in life insurance/reinsurance, with expertise in reinsurance pricing and APAC markets advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Life & Health products, reinsurance treaty wording, strategies, underwriting principles, risk assessment and pricing techniques; regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive reinsurance strategies to promote and sell life insurance products in APAC.
• Support and inspire cross-functional teams, aligning local leaders with global reinsurance strategy.
• Oversee profitability and performance of the reinsurance portfolio including pricing, risk assessment and underwriting practices.
• Collaborate with finance to monitor profitability and ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Manage and monitor reinsurance accounts, including outgoes and recoveries, for timely settlement.
• Provide guidance to underwriters on complex Life & Group quotes to ensure quality underwriting.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and improvements.
• Perform audits to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in reinsurance and life underwriting.
