Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Regional Policy Manager for Asia Pacific to lead policy escalations and provide regional insight across Trust & Safety. The role primarily covers Japan and adjacent markets, collaborating with GR, Comms, Legal, Product and Operations to manage policy issues and risks.

You will monitor regulatory developments, track trends in social media and user behaviour, and translate insights into defensible policy decisions while managing occasional exposure to distressing content.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the Asia-Pacific region, especially Japan.
• Interest in how technology, media and culture affect content safety.
• Ability to deliver balanced, defensible policy assessments.
• Strong prioritisation and execution skills for policy work.
• Experience in policy development, enforcement or escalations.
• Proficiency in Japanese and English for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary policy point of contact for your markets, leading policy escalations and crisis management.
• Build and maintain partnerships with regional executives across GR, Comms, Legal, Product, Operations and business teams to manage market risks.
• Monitor regulatory developments and emerging social media trends to inform policy development and iteration.
