Job summary

ING Wholesale Banking APAC Finance is seeking a motivated Finance Data & Analytics Intern to join our Singapore-based team. You will work at the intersection of finance and data, using Python and data-visualisation tools to drive decision-making across 10+ APAC markets.

No finance background required; a curious, technically inclined student will thrive in a fast-paced, multi-market environment. Internship lasts 6 months from January to June in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant degree in data/engineering fields.
• Strong Python skills including pandas and numpy.
• Experience with Excel for data manipulation and pivot tables.
• Good analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Clear communication to explain data insights.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for dashboards.
• Basic SQL knowledge (SQLite/MySQL).
• Exposure to version control (Git/GitHub).
• Interest in AI/ML applications in business.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for KPI reporting.
• Assist in data extraction, cleaning, and transformation with Python.
• Automate routine reporting tasks currently done in Excel.
• Run data quality checks and reconcile figures across systems.
• Create automated data pipelines and MIS templates for APAC markets.
• Design self-service dashboards showing income, expense, and client metrics.
• Develop scripts to automate month-end and quarter-end reporting.
