Job summary

Public Service Division (Singapore) is seeking a detail-oriented data engineer to support the Data Office. You will assist in collecting, verifying, and publishing public service workforce data, coordinating with agencies on data definitions and requirements.

You will analyze data to detect logic errors, automate data processing with Python, and help prepare publications from the collected data. Strong communication and numerical comfort are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python for data processing.
• Experience or familiarity with AI (LLMs, RAG) is a plus; Tableau knowledge is helpful.

What The Role Is

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Data Engineering & Infrastructure team with PSD’s Data Office, you will be supporting the Team Lead in the collection, verification, and publication of the public service workforce data.

What You Will Be Working On

The roles and responsibilities include:

• Communicate with agencies to address questions on data collection requirements and definitions.
• Analyse data to identify logic errors and work with agencies to correct them accordingly.
• Support the preparation of publications using data collected.
• Write and edit Python scripts to automate data processing.

What We Are Looking For

Competencies Required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Proficient in Python (focus on data processing).
• Experience in AI (e.g. LLMs, RAG) or Tableau is optional but helpful.
• Meticulous, analytical, comfortable working with numbers and data.
• Good communications skills.
• Thinking clearly and making sound judgement.
