Job summary

Tower Research Capital seeks a results-driven professional to support APAC trading operations and develop expertise in the Japanese market structure and regulatory developments.

You will collaborate with exchanges, brokers, and prime brokers across APAC, coordinating cross-functional teams to drive scalable business initiatives and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 3+ years of relevant financial markets experience.
• Strong understanding of Japanese market structure and electronic trading ecosystem.
• Independent ownership of cross-functional projects and stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial judgment skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Collaborative, low-ego mindset for a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Japanese strongly preferred for local exchanges and brokers.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, or other analytical tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partnering with trading teams to address business requirements, identifying market constraints, and implementing scalable APAC solutions.
• Developing deep expertise in Japanese market structure and regulatory developments to serve as regional SME over time.
• Assisting in building and managing relationships with exchanges, brokers, banks, and prime brokers across APAC, esp. Japan.
• Coordinating across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Technology for end-to-end initiatives.
• Performing quantitative and commercial analysis to evaluate new products, trading infrastructure, venues, and market access opportunities.
• Developing analytical frameworks, recommendations, and leadership materials.
• Refining and scaling internal Business Management processes as APAC expands.

Responsibilities

• Partnering with trading teams to address business requirements, identifying market constraints, and implementing solutions that scale APAC operations
• Developing deep expertise in Japanese market structure, exchanges, liquidity, broker dynamics, and regulatory developments to serve as the regional subject matter expert over time
• Assisting in building and managing relationships with exchanges, brokers, banks, and prime brokers across APAC, particularly in Japan
• Assisting in end-to-end strategic initiatives by coordinating across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams
• Performing quantitative and commercial analysis to evaluate new products, trading infrastructure, venues, and market access opportunities
• Developing analytical frameworks, recommendations, and presentation materials for executive leadership
• Refining and scaling internal Business Management processes, reporting, and analytics as APAC operations expand

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher with a strong academic background
• At least 3 years of relevant financial markets experience, such as proprietary trading, investment banking, brokerage, exchanges, or market infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Japanese market structure and the broader electronic trading ecosystem, including market access, clearing, and market data
• A proven track record of independently owning cross-functional projects and managing diverse stakeholder relationships
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial judgment skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Collaborative, low-ego mindset suited for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Fluency in Japanese strongly preferred for local exchange and broker engagement
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, or other analytical tools is a plus
