Job summary

SSMC in Singapore is seeking an AMHS Engineer to join the Automation & Systems, AMHS & Support department. You will work on ensuring system reliability, supporting production operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow.

You will monitor AMHS performance, diagnose hardware and software issues, develop preventive maintenance, coordinate upgrades with vendors, manage spare parts, and lead or support AMHS projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of AMHS experience in manufacturing or automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with OEM AMHS systems (Muratec, Daifuku, SSI Schaefer) is a plus.
• Familiarity with MCS, PLCs and industrial control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work at height and in swing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure system reliability and support production operations.
• Monitor AMHS performance and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose hardware and software failures.
• Provide technical support to operations teams.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate upgrades with vendors and internal teams.
• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Analyze data to identify trends and bottlenecks.
• Support layout changes and material flow improvements.
• Lead AMHS projects and equipment installation.
• Interface with vendors for procurement and support.
• Ensure documentation and safety/quality compliance.
• Collaborate with IT, Equipment Eng, Facilities.
• Train technicians on usage and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to safety protocols including work at height.
