Job summary

Singapore Management University invites applications for a Research Engineer in the School of Computing and Information Systems. The appointment is a 6-month contract (or until 14 July 2027) to advance AI safety within software ecosystems.

The role involves investigating AI components, understanding their supply chains, and identifying trustworthy issues in production-level AI-based software. Collaboration with a small academic team is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines with focus on software development.
• Experience in AI Safety research.
• Proficiency in programming software/languages.
• Familiarity with industrial software deployment practices (IaC, cloud systems).
• Proven track record (publications) in top AI/SE conference.
• Experience with agent design, such as coding agents and GUI agents, is preferred.

Responsibilities
