EOS at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore seeks a Research Associate or Research Fellow to advance AI-enabled software for nature-positive business transformation in ASEAN. The role combines technical AI development with shaping a long-term research vision at the AI-sustainability interface.

You will review LLMs and world models, build tools, and collaborate with researchers and industry partners to produce prototypes, benchmarks, and potential publications.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or related field.
• Proven experience in large/small language model development or AI-enabled software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with data engineering (preprocessing, annotation, pipelines).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on reproducibility and open-source practices.
• Experience or interest in applied NLP in sustainability, ESG or related contexts.

Responsabilités

• Review recent developments in LLMs, agents and world models for sustainability applications.
• Design and develop AI-enabled software and tools for sustainability reporting and analysis.
• Implement, test, and benchmark tool performance using open-source frameworks.
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists and industry partners.
• Develop user-facing prototypes or APIs demonstrating model applicability.
• Contribute to academic publications and open-source releases.
