Responsibilities

• Apply an AI-first approach to software engineering, leveraging AI tools to accelerate design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and operations.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Rapidly build POCs and prototypes to validate use cases and secure stakeholder buy-in.
• Modernise and refactor legacy applications, platforms, and data workflows across the tech landscape.
• Develop and maintain applications and automation solutions using Java and Python.
• Support business-critical platforms through incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with global teams across regions to deliver technology solutions and platform enhancements.

ROLE

The AI Engineer will be in a technology team focused on modern engineering, AI-driven development, and platform transformation. You'll work on a mix of application development, platform modernisation, automation, and operational improvement initiatives while helping drive the adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Apply an AI-first approach to software engineering, leveraging AI tools to accelerate solution design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand problems and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Rapidly build proof-of-concepts (POCs) and solution prototypes to validate use cases, demonstrate ROI, and obtain stakeholder buy-in.
• Modernise and refactor legacy applications, platforms, and data workflows across the technology landscape.
• Develop and maintain applications and automation solutions primarily using Java and Python.
• Support business-critical platforms through incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple regions to deliver technology solutions and platform enhancements.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AI capabilities to improve developer productivity and software delivery processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Engineers who are strong problem solvers and can break down ambiguous business problems into structured solutions.
• Individuals who embrace AI-assisted development rather than relying solely on traditional coding approaches.
• Experience with Java and/or Python development in enterprise environments.
• Exposure to AI development tools, AI workflows, GenAI platforms, or AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain solution approaches and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with large-scale applications, platform engineering, system modernisation, or data-focused initiatives.
• Financial services experience is a plus, but domain expertise is secondary to mindset, adaptability, and technical problem-solving ability.
