Job summary

Kristal.AI, a digital private bank and wealth-tech company in Singapore, is hiring an AI Engineer to build production AI applications for our wealth management platform. You will own features end to end, from scoping with business teams to running in production, reporting to the AI Product Lead and collaborating with data scientists and engineers.

You will design AI agent workflows, build RAG systems over internal docs, policies, and client communications, and ensure data privacy and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/DS/Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on software or AI application experience.
• Strong Python programming skills suitable for production code.
• Practical experience with large language models, prompting, retrieval, embeddings, and failure modes.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Ability to translate complex problems into solvable tasks and communicate clearly in English.

Kristal.AI is a digital private bank and wealth-tech company built for modern investing. We serve accredited investors and high-net-worth families across more than 50 countries, and we are regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong, SEBI in India, and the FSRA in Abu Dhabi.

Our AI product team builds the systems our relationship managers and operations teams use every day: portfolio optimisation engines, document parsing pipelines, and AI agents that answer client and internal questions from our own knowledge base. We are a small team shipping to real users inside a regulated business.

THE ROLE

We are hiring an AI Engineer to build and ship production AI applications for our wealth management platform. You will work on large language model applications, retrieval systems, and AI agents that are used by our relationship managers, operations teams, and clients.

This is a hands-on building role. You will own features end to end, from scoping the problem with the business team through to running the system in production. You will report to the AI Product Lead and work alongside our data scientists and engineers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build and ship production applications powered by large language models, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems over our internal documents, policies, and client communications.
• Design and build AI agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain, including tool calling, multi-step orchestration, and memory.
• Build evaluation harnesses and test sets for AI features, and use them to measure quality before and after every change. We treat evaluation as a first-class part of the work, not an afterthought.
• Write backend services and APIs in Python to support AI workloads, and integrate with our internal platforms and third-party systems.
• Work directly with operations and relationship management teams to scope problems, agree what “good” looks like, and deliver solutions that remove real manual effort.
• Monitor accuracy, latency, and cost in production, and improve them over time.
• Apply our controls for data privacy, auditability, and regulatory compliance to every AI feature you build.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience building software or AI applications. This can include internships, contract work, or substantial project work.
• Strong Python. You can write code that other people can read, test, and run in production.
• Practical experience building applications with large language models. You understand prompting, retrieval, embeddings, and where these systems fail.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• The ability to take an unclear problem, break it down, and come back with a working result. Much of our work starts as a rough business need, not a written spec.
• Clear written and spoken English. You will work directly with non-technical colleagues.
• A genuine interest in finance, investing, or wealth management. You do not need prior finance experience, but you should want to learn the domain.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Experience building evaluation or testing frameworks for AI systems (for example RAGAS or similar).
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with data analysis and visualisation.
