Job summary

Berkley Re Asia is seeking an Underwriting Operations & Automation Specialist to join our Singapore team. This role sits at the centre of underwriting operations, data quality, process improvement, and team coordination, leading a small business support function and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

You will identify better ways to work using Excel, automation, and AI-assisted tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across underwriting processes while supporting reporting

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience within an insurance and/or reinsurance environment.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a business or operational environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and complete work efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and contribute effectively in a team environment.
• A practical problem-solving mindset and interest in improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small business support team that plays a key role in the underwriting process.
• Ensure reinsurance records, documentation and system information are accurate, complete and well managed
• Partner with underwriters and internal teams to keep workflows moving and resolve information gaps
• Use Excel, automation and AI tools to improve reporting, reduce manual effort and strengthen process accuracy
• Coordinate team priorities and support effective resource planning across the business support function
• Maintain confident, professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners
