Job summary

NHG Health is seeking a motivated Research Assistant (Locum Contract) to support AI-driven dysphagia and neural drive projects within the Speech Therapy Department. The role focuses on data collection, device setup, patient screening, and coordination of research activities.

The ideal candidate is a fresh Biomedical Science graduate with strong organizational and communication skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates in Biomedical Science or related fields are welcomed.
• Candidates should be highly motivated, reliable, and possess excellent organisational, project management, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills are essential and beneficial for data handling and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the research team with data collection and the set-up of communication and swallowing devices.
• Screen and recruit patients for studies and conduct audio recordings of swallowing sounds.
• Annotate recordings and perform user experience surveys; assist with testing of preliminary prototypes.
• Handle administrative tasks, maintain accurate research documentation, and manage grant cashflow reimbursements.
• Ensure compliance with research protocols and grant requirements, and collaborate with the team as needed.
