Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an Innovation Intern for Mechatronic Systems & AI Design in Singapore. You will join a dynamic R&D team to design smarter motion control systems and apply AI to improve performance, reliability, and predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Availability for a 5–6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027.
• Strong foundation in kinematics, servo control, and motion systems.
• Familiarity with AI concepts (machine learning, predictive modeling) and their engineering applications.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and C/C++ for simulation, automation, and data analysis.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo) and designing sheet metal/plastic parts.
• Design thinking mindset: empathy, ideation, prototyping, iteration.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas and negotiate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize motion control systems (motors, transmission drives) with precision and performance.
• Apply design thinking to prototype, test, and refine mechanical and thermal solutions.
• Integrate AI-driven analysis to enhance system accuracy and predictive maintenance.
• Develop and execute R&D characterization plans for form/fit/function, shocks, reliability, acoustics, and power metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive innovation.
• Lead mini-projects and contribute to larger development efforts within the mechanical/electrical/thermal team.
• Perform data analysis on global field data to gain insights for product improvements.
