Job summary

HP in Singapore is seeking an Innovation Intern to join a dynamic R&D team focused on mechanical hardware and intelligent systems. You will design smarter motion control systems, apply design thinking and AI to engineering challenges, and collaborate across disciplines to drive breakthrough solutions.

The role supports prototyping, testing, and refinement of mechatronic and thermal solutions, with a focus on AI-driven analysis and data-informed improvements for global product lines.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Available for 5-6 months full-time internship starting January 2027.
• Strong foundation in kinematics, servo control, and motion systems.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and how they apply to engineering.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++ for simulation and data analysis.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools and designing parts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize motion control systems (motors, transmission drives) with a focus on precision, adaptability, and performance.
• Apply design thinking methodologies to prototype, test, and refine mechanical and thermal solutions for mechatronic system.
• Integrate AI-driven analysis to enhance system accuracy, predictive maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Develop and execute R&D characterization plans for form/fit/function, shock and vibration, reliability, acoustics, and power metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and resolve technical challenges.
• Lead mini-projects and contribute to larger development efforts, representing the mechanical/electrical/thermal team.
• Perform data analysis on global field data to gain insight for product improvements.
