JOB TITLE: 2027 Term 1 Internship – AI-Driven CPU/GPU Development & Co-Optimization

LOCATION: Singapore

ONSITE/HYBRID REQUIREMENT:

This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

CRITERIA:

Current students studying in universities based in Singapore and able to provide a placement/support letter from their school covering the entire internship period.

INTERNSHIP DURATION:

Term 1 Internship Start Date: 4 Jan 2027, End Date: 28 May 2027 or 6 Aug 2027.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN:

• The internship offers an opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in the cutting-edge world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science (DS). Interns will gain firsthand exposure to state-of-the-art (SOTA) techniques, models, and frameworks employed in industry-leading AI and DS practices. This experience will be invaluable in understanding how these tools drive innovation, efficiency, and precision in solving complex problems across diverse applications.
• Interns will develop a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry across multiple functional units within the company, gaining insights into how the most advanced AMD CPU/GPU products are designed, rigorously tested, and manufactured. They will also explore the end-to-end lifecycle of AI and data oriented software solution development, learning to apply industry best practices in architecture, implementation, and deployment. This comprehensive experience will equip interns with the knowledge and skills to deliver impactful, end-to-end solutions that align with the dynamic needs of a rapidly evolving industry.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Developing end-to-end AI and Data-centric software solution for enhancing the operational efficiency of AMD CPU/GPU product development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with subject matter experts & stakeholders to resolve the domain-specific problems that impact AMD business with operational efficiency enhancement.
• Creating data science and AI models and/or solutions for tackling the issues in the domain-specific use cases for potential uplift of key business metrics compared to the convention.
• Practicing the software engineering best practices, e.g., CI/CD, MLOps, etc., in developing and deploying the analytical and AI models into the cloud-based production environment.
• Collaborating with the platform engineering team, data engineering team, and IT team for refining and adopting the data-specific workloads that support the data-centric applications with AI and data science capabilities.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

A self-driven individual with the willingness to work on direct operational and engineering problems and solve them with AI and data science solutions, passionate about applying pragmatical practices into the real-world industrial problems, (bonus) having experience in full-stack software solution development, large-scale ML system development, MLOps, and generative AI.

RELEVANT SKILLSETS:

Basic requirements

• Python (Pandas, Plotly, Scikit, Flask), SQL, REST API development.

Advanced requirements

• CI/CD, MLOps, Kubernetes.
• UI/UX, ReactJS, Angular, Vue.
• LLM, Agentic AI framework, SKILL-based development.

Training will be provided for these items wherever needed, but interns should have basic Python coding experience and basic AI/ML and data science modeling knowledge (project work in the past would be beneficial.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Study background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
