Job summary

Margin Wheeler is seeking an Assistant Accounts Manager in Singapore to lead and develop our accounting team within a technology-driven firm. You will mentor staff, review financial statements, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and drive process improvements.

The role emphasizes leading with AI adoption, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering exceptional client service while advancing internal workflows and standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• CA Singapore or ACCA is an advantage.
• At least 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in an accounting or corporate services firm.
• Experience leading or supervising a team is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
• Experience reviewing financial statements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants.
• Review bookkeeping, management accounts and financial statements prepared by the team.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Manage workload allocation to maximise team productivity.
• Coach and develop team members through regular feedback and technical guidance.
• Review financial statements prepared in accordance with SFRS.
• Resolve technical accounting issues and provide guidance to team members.
• Drive continuous improvements to workflows, systems and internal processes.
• Champion the adoption of AI and automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Work closely with clients to provide professional accounting advice and exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with Tax, Company Secretarial and Client Relationship teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and client satisfaction.
