Job summary

CellResearch Corporation in Singapore is seeking an experienced engineer to build our in-house integration layer, directing AI coding agents to connect NetSuite, Shopify and other systems across the business.

You will own the architecture, CI/CD pipelines, deployment, testing and observability, shaping how this new function works as the first hire in the team and helping to scale capability across operations and finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years building and running production systems.

• Strong API design and data movement experience (REST/GraphQL).
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript; ability to read and intervene critically.

CellResearch Corporation was founded in Singapore in 2002. In 2004 our scientists isolated epithelial and

mesenchymal stem cells from the umbilical cord lining membrane - a discovery now protected by patents

across key territories worldwide, covering isolation, banking, cultivation and therapeutic application.

Today that platform runs in two directions: a consumer cosmeceuticals business selling globally, and a

therapeutics arm developing treatments for conditions including diabetic foot ulcers. We hold SME designation from the European Medicines Agency and an Innovation Passport from UK regulators.

Both sides are growing, and the systems underneath them need to grow with them.

The role

We run on NetSuite, Shopify, and a range of SaaS and on-premises systems, integrated today with external

partners. As we scale, we want that capability in-house - closer to the business, and able to move at the pace the business moves.

We're hiring an experienced engineer to build it by directing AI coding agents rather than writing everything by hand. This is not a traditional development role, and it's not a pilot - it's where we think the discipline is going, and we're staffing it accordingly.

You'll be the first hire into this function and will shape how it works. We intend to build a team around it.

How you'll work

You'll design systems and direct agents to implement them: specifying, reviewing, correcting, deciding - several threads at once, catching the wrong turn before it reaches production.

That only works if you already know what good looks like. The agent will confidently produce something plausible and wrong; the value of this role is being the person who spots it.

What you'll own

The integration layer between NetSuite, Shopify, and everything else - orders, inventory, fulfilment, customers, financials. Building new integrations and bringing existing ones in-house.

The engineering fundamentals underneath them: source control, CI/CD, testing, error handling, and observability built in from the start. Deployment should be a pipeline, not an event.

Direct working relationships with the operations and finance people who understand the business processes - define the problem together, agree what good looks like, ship against it.

Enabling non-developers to build safely. Colleagues across the business want to automate more of their own work; your job is to give them the guardrails, patterns and review that let them go further with confidence.

What we're looking for

At least five years building and running production systems. You've been on call for something you wrote, and it changed how you build.

Working fluency with AI coding agents, and a clear view of where they break down.

Strong with APIs and data movement - REST/GraphQL, webhooks, queues, idempotency, reconciliation. You know what happens when a message arrives twice, or out of order, or not at all.

Fluent in Python, TypeScript, or similar - enough to read critically and intervene, which is most of the job.

You own deployment, not just code. CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, repeatable environments - agent-generated code makes this non-negotiable, since volume without automated verification is just faster breakage.

Able to turn a business process described by a non-technical colleague into a system that holds up.

waiting for a committee.
