Job summary

FairPrice Group in Singapore is seeking an Agentic AI & Software Engineer to shape our customer ecosystem by building robust backend systems, managing loyalty and billing, and pioneering agentic AI capabilities across our platforms.

You will design real-time hyper-personalization APIs, integrate AI-driven data, and deploy AI agents that automate key business workflows, collaborating with Marketing, Analytics, and Customer Service to drive measurable outcomes.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Agentic AI & Software Engineer to join our Customer & Marketing Technology team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of our customer ecosystem by building robust software solutions, managing our loyalty systems, and pioneering the development of agentic AI capabilities. You will blend traditional software engineering with advanced AI development to build hyper-personalization APIs, integrate AI-driven data seamlessly into our platforms, and deploy AI agents that elevate the customer experience and automate critical business workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Software Engineering & System Development

• Loyalty & Billing Systems: Design, develop, and maintain the backend architecture for our core loyalty and billing systems, ensuring high availability, accuracy, and seamless integration with enterprise middlewares (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee) and ERPs (e.g., SAP).
• Hyper-Personalization System: Build and scale robust, low-latency APIs & Backoffice that deliver real-time, hyper-personalized content, offers, and recommendations to customers across multiple digital touchpoints.
• Modern Application Architecture: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern software engineering practices, ensuring scalable microservices architecture within a cloud-native (GCP) environment.

Agentic AI Engineering

• AI Agent Development: Design and deploy autonomous AI agents (leveraging LLMs like Google Gemini) aimed at enhancing the customer journey (e.g., AI-driven customer service AI agent, intelligent sommeliers, conversational interfaces, Synthetic customer) and automating internal workflows.
• AI & Data Integration: Work closely with data models to ensure AI systems seamlessly consume, process, and act upon rich customer and marketing data. Bridge the gap between software execution and AI decision-making.
• Workflow Automation: Build agents capable of autonomously triggering marketing workflows, triaging customer service queries, and resolving standard operational bottlenecks.

Customer & Marketing Technology Integration

• Ecosystem Connectivity: Architect smooth, reliable, and secure interactions between our AI agents, core transactional systems, and external marketing platforms (e.g., CRMs, conversational tools like WhatsApp, Zendesk).
• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and API health, optimizing for speed, cost-efficiency, and a frictionless end-user experience.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Customer Service teams to translate business requirements into technical architectures and innovative AI solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in Software Engineering, with a strong track record of building and maintaining production-grade backend systems MCP and RESTful APIs.
• Strong programming proficiency in languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
• Demonstrated experience or strong conceptual understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (specifically Google Gemini or similar), and AI Agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred) and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of database design (SQL and NoSQL) and integrating applications with rich data layers.
• Experience developing or integrating loyalty programs, billing systems, or e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with middleware and API gateways (e.g., Apigee) and CRM integrations (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
• Experience deploying Agentic AI platforms or chatbots across messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp). Familiarity with Google ADK, GECX and Salesforce Agentforce are strong plus
• Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE) and robust CI/CD processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
