Job summary

Vitol Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a motivated AI Engineer to join our AI team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will build LLM-based automation solutions, collaborating with end-users and stakeholders to translate needs into working AI workflows.

You will design, prototype, and iterate agentic workflows, develop prompts, AI Skills, and MCPs, and engage with business users to deliver tangible value with high autonomy.

Qualifications

• A degree in a technical field with 3–5 years of professional software/AI engineering experience.
• Fluency in Python with clean, modular, well-documented code and engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLMs, prompting and agentic patterns (tool use, function calling, MCP).
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerisation concepts.
• Exposure to modern full-stack development practices.
• Strong ability to engage with non-technical end-users and translate needs into requirements.
• Clear communication, curiosity, and willingness to learn and adapt.
• Interest in commodities markets and energy/trading dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with end-users across trading, operations, and support to identify automation opportunities.
• Design and prototype agentic AI workflows tailored to business problems.
• Develop production-ready prompts, AI Skills, and MCPs.
• Engage stakeholders to gather feedback and refine solutions.
• Translate business problems into technical designs and delivery plans.
• Document work and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
