Job summary

Aestral Learning Hub is seeking a Part-Time Student Care Mentor to support children's after-school learning. You will guide homework, revisions and structured activities, helping children build good study habits and confidence in a safe environment.

You will communicate with parents about progress and work with fellow mentors to ensure smooth daily operations. Prior experience and a caring, collaborative approach are valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in any discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with children, preferably at primary school level.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour positively and effectively.
• Responsible, organised and dependable.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine interest in children's development.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate professionally with parents.
• WSQ Student Care certification or Early Childhood certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise primary school children during student-care hours.
• Provide guidance with school homework, revision and learning activities.
• Encourage students to complete assigned tasks responsibly and independently.
• Help children develop positive learning routines, concentration and time-management habits.
• Support the centre's structured learning programmes.
• Support children's social and emotional development through positive interactions.
• Encourage respectful communication, cooperation and responsible behaviour.
• Guide children in managing everyday challenges and classroom situations constructively.
• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding children's attendance and progress.
