Job summary

Kulicke & Soffa is hiring an Advanced Engineer in Singapore to develop and optimize high-performance mechanical modules for its leading semiconductor bonding equipment. The role emphasizes CAD design, prototype development, and cross-functional collaboration with EE and Software teams to meet stringent performance targets.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, at least 2 years of industry experience, and hands-on experience with precision electro-mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant industry.
• Proven track record in product development of industrial equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of high precision electro-mechanical components.
• Expert knowledge of 3D CAD design tools such as NX or ProEngineer.
• Cross-functional skills spanning EE, motion control and software basics.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment is a plus.
• Full product lifecycle experience from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and create drawings in CAD.
• Analyse and solve design challenges to meet performance requirements.
• Specify commercial components to achieve target performance.
• Build prototypes for testing and integration into machines.
• Develop and execute validation tests for electro-mechanical subsystems.
• Collaborate with EE and Software teams to achieve module performance.
• Work with external parties on outsourced modules.
• Ensure smooth transition to manufacturing of new modules and designs.
• Define module interfaces and ownership of deliverables.
• Perform modelling and analysis (FEA, Excel, MATLAB).
• Optimize designs for performance, manufacturability and durability.
