Job summary

HSBC Life Singapore invites applications for an Actuarial Assistant to join our team and contribute to IFRS 17 reporting, data preparation, and model configuration.

You will produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports for entities under IFRS 17, support EV calculations, and maintain controls.

The ideal candidate holds a quantitative degree, progress toward actuarial qualifications, strong English, and good interpersonal skills.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as aActuarial Assistant

In this role you will:

• Carry out the end-to-end actuarial reporting process, including data preparation, assumption setting, model configuration, model execution, results review, analysis and submission.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for insurance entities underIFRS 17.
• Prepare management information under other reporting bases, such as embedded value.
• Ensure that financial reporting activities comply with internal controls and internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain robust control structures, governance arrangements and documentation standards.
• Support analytical reviews for new business management, sensitivities, analysis of change, business projections and the impact of assumption changes.
• Support assessments relating toVFA eligibility and onerous contracts under IFRS 17.

To be successful you will need:

• A university degree in a quantitative subject, together with progress towards or completion of professional actuarial qualifications.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• A structured and detail-oriented approach to analytical and reporting work.
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
