Job summary

TOA PAYOH METHODIST CHURCH (TRAC) is seeking anAccounts Team Lead to manage monthly and annual closings, budgeting, audits, and pledge management in Singapore. You will advise on procurement per Finance policy and review processes for improvement, while supervising the Accounts Team.

The role requires at least 5 years in accounting, a Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or CA qualifications, and proficiency in MS Office; SAGE knowledge is advantageous. Alternate Sundays are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting handling full sets of accounts.
• Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or CA qualifications preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Working knowledge of SAGE Accounting software would be advantageous.
• Proven experience as a team lead or in a supervisory role.
• Able to work independently and as a good team player.
• Able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Effective time management and adherence to deadlines.
• Committed and meticulous.
• Required to work on alternate Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by ensuring all financial transactions are recorded precisely.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring that they adhere to accounting standards and company policies.
• Preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Manage the administration of various records including Fixed Assets, Donations and Pledges.
• Compile and prepare monthly financial reports for the Board.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to ministries within the organization, and supervisory role for Accounts Team.
• Key liaison for internal and external audits by providing the necessary documentation and information.
• Ensure sufficient internal controls are in place so that resources especially monetary matters are properly accounted for, and policies and legislation are complied with.
• Responsible for payroll and statutory payment submissions.
• Manage the submission and payment of withholding tax for foreign payee.
• Play an active role in the digitalisation of the accounting system and process.
• Assist in investment, human resource and administration matters, and any duties assigned by Operations Manager.
