Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a growing manufacturing client to hire an experienced accounting professional for a newly established joint venture. The role offers autonomy to shape the finance function, establish key processes, and collaborate with senior stakeholders as the business scales across Asia.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/finance, experience in manufacturing, and Mandarin proficiency to engage with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
• Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle including AP, AR, General Ledger, intercompany accounting and month-end closing.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, statutory compliance and taxation requirements.
• Experience supporting audits and working with external stakeholders.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a growing business environment.
• Prior exposure to start-up, greenfield, joint venture or newly established business setups will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients, customers, or business stakeholders as part of the job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, tax and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts and financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Lead month-end closing activities and ensure financial records are accurate and compliant.
• Oversee tax reporting, statutory filings and audit requirements.
• Establish accounting policies, financial controls, approval workflows and reporting structures.
• Partner closely with senior management, shareholders and external service providers on financial matters.
• Support the setup and onboarding of new entities as the business expands.
