Job summary

Clarist Resources Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee financial reporting and accounting operations for a leading retail group in Singapore. The role focuses on accurate financial records, timely reporting, cash flow management, and statutory compliance.

You will prepare statements, manage month/year-end closings, monitor cash flow, and coordinate with auditors and regulators. A degree in accounting or a recognized professional qualification with at least 5 years’ experience

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or recognised professional accountancy qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within retail.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month end closing, reconciliations, audit preparation, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports and regulatory filings.
• Manage month end and year end closing including GL maintenance and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Handle tax compliance including GST, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
• Validate sales and collections reconciliations and prepare related declarations.
• Coordinate with internal teams, tax agents, secretarial agents, and regulators.
• Support new accounting processes and systems implementations.

A leading retail group is seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and statutory compliance. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
• Manage month end and year end closing, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare audit schedules, coordinate year end audit requirements, and liaise with external auditors.
• Handle statutory reporting and tax compliance, including GST, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
• Validate sales and collections reconciliations and prepare sales audit documentation and declarations.
• Coordinate with internal departments, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, and relevant regulatory authorities.
• Support the implementation of new accounting processes and systems when required.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or a recognised professional accountancy qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the retail industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month end closing, reconciliations, audit preparation, and tax compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Detail oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with internal and external stakeholders.
