Job Overview
The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing accounting and financial reporting activities for both the group and the funds managed by the company. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role ensures the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial records and reports. Additionally, the Accountant supports the Finance Manager in finance-related tasks and projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for both the group and the funds managed by the company.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and analyze discrepancies to maintain accuracy in the financial statements.
- Ensure all financial reporting meets regulatory requirements and adheres to statutory laws and financial regulations.
General Ledger and Accounting Operations
- Manage the general ledger and oversee all end-to-end accounting operations, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional activities.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures to support accurate accounting and financial management.
Audit and Compliance
- Facilitate and coordinate with external and internal auditors during audits to ensure compliance and integrity of financial data.
- Uphold internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
Tax Reporting and Compliance
- Assist in tax preparation and filings with tax agents.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
Team Collaboration and Support
- Act as a strong team player, working collaboratively within the finance department and across the organization to ensure cohesive financial management.
- Support the Manager in financial operations and project implementations.
Job Requirements (to include education, qualifications, years of experience, specific skillsets / qualities etc)
- Preferably with prior experience in entity level financial closing.
- Minimally diploma in accounting.
