We are looking for a talented and experienced finance professional to join our expanding Finance team as an Accountant. You will report to the Senior Finance Manager and collaborate with other team members to ensure complete and accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with the relevant accounting standards. You will play a key role in monthly and annual financial reporting and close activities, managing entity-level statutory requirements, handling financial audits, as well as taking ownership of corporate taxation matters. What you’ll do (responsibilities)
- Accurate and complete recording of expenses, revenues, and balance sheet accounts: Work collaboratively with the Finance Operations team to ensure all vendors’ invoices are recorded accurately and completely, and correctly classified in accounting system
- Coordinate with the Payables team and other stakeholders to ensure all incurred expenses not invoiced are accrued for in the relevant reporting periods
- Recording of intercompany transactions in accordance with the Group’s transfer pricing policies
- Reporting and analysis: Drive the month-end close activities and full bookkeeping for entities, including preparing and posting journal entries for relevant business transactions such as—but not limited to—preparation of monthly tax computation in compliance with local tax regulations, intercompany recharges, etc.
- Review and/or prepare profit and loss and balance sheet schedules and reconciliations, including—but not limited to—intercompany reconciliations, accruals & prepayment listings, and preparation of other ad hoc and/or recurring analyses
- Produce monthly financial analysis and reporting packages in accordance with group reporting requirements
- Statutory reporting: Accountable for managing VAT/GST submissions, local audits, finalize local financial statements, corporate tax filing and any other related responsibilities
- Others: Propose and/or support process improvement initiatives/enhancements, finance system implementations etc
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies in alignment with Group policies, practice and procedures
- Assist in fulfilling other audit and/or tax requirements through coordination with external auditors and/or tax consultants if required
- Assist in other ad hoc tasks and projects
What you’ll need to succeed (qualifications)
- Diploma or degree holder in Finance or Accounting from accredited institution
- CA/CPA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification is a plus
- 2 to 3+ years hands-on experience in handling wide range of financial accounting duties/functions (or equivalent)
- Strong foundation in basic accounting, double entries
- Basic understanding of corporate income tax, value-added tax, etc
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English
- Proficiency in MS Office (or equivalent), for data analysis and presentations
- A team player, able to build good relationships and work cross functionally
- Adaptable and independent with strong attention to detail
