Job summary

James Cook University Singapore is seeking a motivated AccessAbility Officer to support students requiring additional assistance to participate fully in their studies. The role coordinates reasonable adjustments based on documentation and prepares an AccessAbility Plan aligned with campus needs.

The incumbent will work with students and staff to translate recommendations into practical adjustments, seeking further information when needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in accessibility services, education, student support or a comparable environment.
• Experience supporting people with physical disabilities, chronic health conditions, mental health conditions, neurodiversity, sensory impairments, and learning difficulties.
• Professional registration is not required; postgraduate qualification in disability, rehabilitation, psychology, counselling, inclusive education or related field would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and recommendations to develop, implement and review an AccessAbility Plan.
• Identify reasonable educational adjustments aligned with university policies and resources.
• Seek clarification or additional documentation if unclear or insufficient.
• Enhance staff and student knowledge through training, workshops, and initiatives on reasonable adjustments.
• Improve service delivery through policy development and process reviews.
• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with educators and staff supporting student success.
